Gentle capillary
So small as the daisy, pulled
into petals from the precious lens
of a leaf.
Unfurl the tangles like twine;
only soft
as an organ,
and underneath
the quick pulse
of some other body, the beautiful body:
that lies over there and empty,
still empty in the yellow light
of this warm morning.
